Off to NYC

Well, I am leaving tomorrow morning for Brooklyn! I'll post stories/pics when I return.

Only news at the moment: got to wait on Kurt Wagner last night! Kurt is the singer in Lambchop; he's been in to the restaurant a lot, but I think I'm the only one there who knows who he is. I also waited on some local newscasters, but I had no clue who they were until someone told me. I really, really hate the local news. Sensational, sentimental garbage. Sorry newscasters. They were very nice. I just don't respect them as "journalists." Oh well. So to celebrate my brush with indie rock celebrity, here's a little lambchop song for ya: The zero 7 mix of "up with people," from Nixon. (While Zero 7's actualy album got really played out and is kinda stuck back in 2001-02's lounge/downtempo/chillout thing, they have done 2 of my favorite remixes: the lambchop one, and a remix of Radiohead's "Climbing Up the Walls.") I highly recommend Lampchop's latest release(s) as well! Is A Woman is really mellow and beautiful, while Aw Come On / No You Come On rock a bit more. PS: Kurt is really nice.
